Project Background:This project is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD&C) through City Corporations. BAPSA is implementing three partnership areas;Two in Dhaka City Corporations (DSCC PA 2 & DNCC PA 4) and One in Khulna City Corporation (KCC PA 2).

Objectives of this project are:

To reduce preventable mortality and morbidity among women and children, by strengthening the Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) infrastructure, and ensuring that the poor receive good quality, preventive, promotive, and curative health services; and Sustain improvements in PHCC by building the capacities of Local Government and changing the role of the government in the provision of health care services.

Project Location:

BAPSA has been implementing the UPHCSDP-II project in 3 Partnership Areas(PAs).

DSCC PA-2 is located in the old Dhaka city covering Chakbazar, Bangshal, and part of Sutrapur thana under Dhaka South City Corporation. The wards included are 30, 31,32,33,34, 35 & 43. DSCC PA-2 is operating through 1 Maternity Center (CRHCC) and 6 Primary Health Care Centers (PHCC). 312 Satellite Clinics (SC) are being organized every month within the slums and hard-to-reach areas.

DNCC PA-4 is located at Pallabi, Mirpur covering wards 6, 7 & 8 under Dhaka North City Corporation. The services are being provided through 4 Primary Health Care Centers (PHCC) and 1 Maternity Center (CRHCC). Besides, 208 Satellite Clinics are being organized every month in the slums and hard-to-reach areas.

KCC PA 2 is located at the heart of Khulna city at 2, Custom Ghat, Rupsha, Khulna covering wards 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 25 & 26.
