Project title: “Public Private Partnership for Improving the Quality of MR and PAC Services in a Selected Upazila of Bangladesh”.

This project is an initiative of Public Private Partnership in the sector of Reproductive Health, focusing on Menstrual Regulation (MR) and Post Abortion Care (PAC) services.  Counseling and quality of care are the most vulnerable areas of the public sector service delivery system. Pre and post-counseling of RH clients especially those for MR/PAC at selected public service delivery outlets will be improved taking sustainability into account. The counseling and other clinical skill trainings including Right-based Approach will be imparted. Broad-based community linkages will be established with community leaders, teachers, officials, other gate-keepers, disadvantaged men and women of reproductive age, and adolescents will be provided with sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) information. Wide publicity through behavior change communication (BCC) materials and activities will be undertaken for enhancing the service quality, the trust of the community, and to increase awareness, contraceptive use and decrease unsafe MR and post abortion complications.

Overall goal of the project:

The overall goal of the project is: Women and men of reproductive age of the Bogra District avoid Unintended Pregnancies and access safe Menstrual Regulation Services.

Objectives of the project:

Objective 1: To improve the quality of MR and Post Abortion Care(PAC) services at fiveUnion Health and Family Planning Centres (UH & FWC) and Upazila Health Complex of NandigramUpazila of Bogra District by the end of the project.

Outcome: Quality of MR and PAC services at the UH&FWC and UHC of NandigramUpazila of Bogra District improved.

Objective 2: To improve knowledge and attitudes of 21760 MWRAs and 6000 adolescent girls on unintended pregnancies, contraceptive methods and unsafe abortion in NandigramUpazila of Bogra District by the end of the project.

Outcome: 21760 MWRAs and 6000 adolescent girls are aware on unintended pregnancies, contraceptive methods and unsafe abortion in NandigramUpazila of Bogra District.

Objective 3: To increase involvement of 520 opinion leaders, local government representatives, public health and Family planning field functionaries and health providers to remove barriers and stigma regarding MRand prevention of unintended pregnancies in NandigramUpazila of Bogra District by the end of the project.

Outcome: Involvement of 520 opinion leaders, local government representatives, public health and Family planning field functionaries and health providers are used to remove stigma and barriers pertinent to Unintended pregnancies and MR in NandigramUpazila of Bogra District by the end of the project.
